X1 Debut Showcon Recap

Today, August 27 at 6 pm KST, X1 released their debut title track MV “Flash” and their debut album Quantum Leap.

Even before they dropped their song, #X1_Flash was trending worldwide, but now they hold both first and second place.

Not only that, but they already have more than one million views on YouTube!

If you didn’t manage to catch the live stream of their debut showcon, worry not. We got you covered. Keep scrolling to read about some of our favorite moments.

The members first introduced themselves individually to all of the 18,000 One It’s in the Gocheok Sky Dome.

Eunsang went first and called himself the charming member. Seungwoo introduced himself as “a cool leader who loves One It” (we love you too!). Seungyoun called himself “an all rounder”, while Hangyul said he was the healthy member who would be taking care of One it.

Then Wooseok decided that what we needed was some skin and took off his jacket to show off his guns in a sleeveless top, calling himself “innocent and sexy”. He is definitely one of those things. Yohan, his partner in crime by the looks of it, thought it would be a good idea to slap his thigh and highlight their strength. I guess we know what he thinks his best feature is. Hyeongjun then did a body roll which we will not speak of, and called himself “the new sexy memeber”.

The cutie Dongpyo cooled it down with “I’m a lovely boy” (yes, you are), Junho informed us he was a “random talker”, king Minhee decided that “Hello, I’m Kang Minhee” was enough, and finally Dohyon introduced himself as the member with cute cheeks (very true).

Wooseok explained the two versions of the album: 비상 (Emergency) – represents all of the members gathering with the same goal, while Quantum Leap represents them achieving that goal with a “leap”. The album contains a photobook showing all of the member’s individual charms. Wooseok said that they wanted to show both their cute and sexy side, but we already knew that.

Hangyul and Yohan then went on to explain the concept behind “Flash“. They said it is supposed to be a cool and powerful song that represents the concept of the album as a whole – leaping and flying to one’s dreams. Yohan said that he thought the choreo was very difficult when they first saw it, but in our humble opinion, the all nailed it.

Speaking of nailing it, they performed all of their new songs live for the first time, and – you guessed it – they nailed it!

You can watch all of the songs, as well as some showcon highlights over on Mnet’s YouTube channel or right here!
